Amos 3:7

Surely the Lord God will do nothing without revealing
His secret to His servants the prophets.

This post might be a little bit out of the ordinary in its scope, but I hope you will follow my thoughts.  As I have spent more and more time in my Bible, I have discovered that God, the Author of this Holy book, has revealed many of His mysteries through His prophets.  If you dedicate some serious study to the Word, you will find that His plan for reconciliation with His creation is spelled out numerous times.  Through the visions He imparts to His prophets and the words in red from His Son, we can know the details of "The Plan".
What I believe the Holy Spirit has shown me is true of God, also pertains to the Enemy.  You see, God has so many attributes, and among them are Veracity, Immutability, Sovereignty and Omnipotence.  In a nutshell, this means that God always tells the truth; He never changes; He is always in control; and He has power over everything and everyone.
So, in His infinite Wisdom, what God has given us in the Bible (His Plan), He also demands from Satan,  In other words, since God has given us revelation through His prophets, He, in his power and control, also declares that the Devil must play by the same rules.
If God is going to give us an opportunity to discern the ways in which He plans to deliver us to our rightful place in His kingdom, then Satan has to give us the chance to figure out his diabolical schemes.  How does he do this?  Well, I used to dismiss those Christians who said we were given hints and clues through the movies and TV.  But now it is starting to make more sense.  If Satan has to reveal his strategy, he's naturally going to do it in a subtle and beguiling fashion -- not to make it too obvious or sinister so that we are on to him.
So why not cleverly hide it in our national obsession .... entertainment!  All you have to do is watch Will Smith in Enemy of the State, or Tom Cruise in Oblivion; not to mention the classic series Fringe or today's blockbuster Revolution.  It's right there in front of us, if only we will see it and seek the knowledge it offers.  Kind of like the Bible, huh?  And if only we were as consumed with reading the Word as we are with being enlightened by the culture, we might just receive the insight and understanding that really matters.
