The truth is, if the Mega-Church congregation, elders, and even the pastor, can't address a basic spiritual warfare issue like yours … then we must, on our own, train ourselves up in the way of the Lord. The reason that Satan is winning in our culture is because we Christians and the Church don't know how to take the authority and power, given to us by Christ, to heal ourselves or others. We have compromised too long with Society and have quit calling Sin, a sin. And now we are reaping the rewards of such unholy concessions and refusing to draw a line in the sand. And I pray with you for a sweeping revival of the Holy Spirit across our land and in every heart! He is way more interested in setting our hearts on Him and His purpose than starting a social cause or foundation of our own making.<br />I speak of personal experience. many years ago I learned that my daughters had been sexually abused by someone close to a family member. the result of this led both of my daughters down a path of sin & self-destruction (at this time only one has recovered). My initial reaction was to seek out our pastors, youth leaders, Christian counselors, Bible teachers and anybody else who would listen. NOBODY in those places had ANYTHING to offer our family. after I got over my disappointment, I got on my knees and I stayed there for many months. and i started reading God's Word for myself. and slowly my heart began to heal and i became a different woman as i allowed God's Grace to change me. i wouldn't wish the pain on anybody, but nor would i change the outcome of what God wanted to do in my life (and continues to do daily). the story doesn't end there, as we are senior citizens raising a 4 year old grandchild. we have had her for nearly 3 years and the closest thing a Christian has come to comforting us is saying "i don't know how you do it". what we have learned from the Lord these last few years is to live one day at a time in the Grace that He gives for today. please know i am not dismissing Christian fellowship or the importance of a united voice in the Body. but THAT must begin with one heart at a time. and ONLY then will we as a Body make any kind of impact on this evil culture we are living in. we are being given ample circumstances personally and as a nation to draw ever closer to Him, but are we seeing these as opportunities? change our hearts O God...revive us once again for such a time as this!
