That's why I said in the blog post, &...I agree! That's why I said in the blog post, "And of course, the Rhema Word must coincide with what is revealed about the Logos in the Bible. I do not believe God or Jesus will speak a word to our hearts or spirits that contradicts His Word in the Bible, but I certainly believe They have a desire to illuminate the Word to those who will receive it". It is sad when the flesh is stronger than the spirit. And I can't help but think that these people know in their hearts that they are lying to themselves. I agree with you - He is in ...Thanks for the blog. I agree with you - He is in the process of revealing himself more and more each day. And the revelations can be both personal and corporate. One issue I would like to inject though - with a word of caution - is that many today who would assert that they have heard a word from God are sadly mistaken. Such people are easy to spot. No revelation from God would be inconsistent with His word. For example, a woman at my job recently told me that she prayed and asked God if it was OK for her to move in with her boyfriend. She said she heard a very clear answer to her prayer - a word from God, if you will - that it was OK for her to move in with the boyfriend. Clearly, she did not hear a word from God and "the answer" to prayer which she said she heard was not that at all, but rather was something else - either a word from Satan, or perhaps her own selfish desires bubbling to the surface, or both. Either way, what she heard was not God instructing her to engage in sin, because He doesn't do that.

So today whenever I hear someone say they had a new revelation from God, I like to hear about it, as I believe he is revealing himself to us. But we have to test these new revelations against the template of scripture. Whatever the revelation is, if it's not consistent with scripture, then it's not from God. I don't know if Mike Pence hears from God or not. I hope he does. And I hope he listens and obeys. And I take a small measure of comfort that at least one of our national leaders seeks guidance and revelation from the creator God.

God bless. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
