Yet the actual net...Yes, I know those were there…. Yet the actual net result is the fact that they are on a different plan - a 'cadillac' plan per se - granted an 'exemption' from obamacare.

All else is simply yammering and feel good talk - but the proof is in the pudding.

I'd like to see ONE representative or senator denounce their plan and sign up and USE obamacare. To me, it's a principle thing.

My wife asked the same of me, if I was in congress would *I* do that to our family. I stated that I am not a hypocrite, so yes, I would do just that.

but I'm a man of principle…..

thx
rory
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-367019700923216960.post-78726181180552843842013-10-24T07:59:29.429-05:002013-10-24T07:59:29.429-05:00Actually, in 2010, Republican senator Chuck Grassl... Actually, in 2010, Republican senator Chuck Grassley suggested an amendment intended to make Democrats balk: Members of Congress and their staff would have to buy their insurance from the health-care exchanges. The amendment explicitly said that the federal government should continue making the same employer contributions. It was not designed to cut employees’ benefits, but rather to make sure they had a stake in the quality and efficiency of the exchanges. Democrats actually accepted it, and put it into the eventually passed bill, but without the provision for employer contributions.
During his filibuster, Cruz praised this proposed amendment, along with a more recent one by Senator David Vitter that wants members of Congress on the Obamacare exchanges without subsidies. BUT he'd liked to see it broadened, to include Washington, D.C., public school teachers, postal workers, Department of Defense employees, and some active duty military, among others.
And you are so right about the devastating cost to the average American family, who can barely afford the premiums they are paying now. But I'm sure the insurance industry is loving this ... charging existing customers more, and getting government money to boot ... but that is another story. Yes, come Lord Jesus, come!

Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/09/ted-cruz-david-vitter-obamacare-exemption-97302.html#ixzz2idyMUZn2

Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/09/ted-cruz-david-vitter-obamacare-exemption-97302.html#ixzz2idxy1O73Pam Kohlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00678673505358164380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-367019700923216960.post-39417335335461744802013-10-23T14:48:29.645-05:002013-10-23T14:48:29.645-05:00I pretty much agree with your comments above, yet ...I pretty much agree with your comments above, yet I would like to see Cruz, along with all other politicians simply denounce their existing healthcare plans (which of course are 'platinum' plans they voted for themselves, and are NOT on Obamacare) and agree to take up obamacare as their insurance plans. You know… like the rest of us that need to get insurance privately…

My big issue is this: family of 5, 'bronze' plan in our state is approx $1200-1300 a MONTH! So that is $14,400 minimum paid to 'bet' we won't have anything bad happen to us…. THEN with that plan - our individual deductibles are between $5000-6500 and family deductible is $12,500….. for one year…. oy….

I know Rand Paul attempting to have a national constitutional amendment where lawmakers MUST eat the same dog food they give to the people - no 'cutouts' just for the lawmakers etc… yet that will be a long time coming.

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/10/rand-paul-constitutional-amendment-98625.html

So this shows where we are - in what world do we live where we need an amendment to make the lawmakers the same as his constituents?

Lord Jesus quickly come…..

RoryAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
