Don't Be Like King Asa!

     

     Before, I get to the points I want to make in today's blog, I want us to revisit a brief passage in 2 Chronicles 16 about Asa, the fifth king of the Kingdom of Judah. The Bible says that "in the 36th year of his reign, he developed a disease in his feet". It says that although "this disease was severe, yet even in his illness he did not seek the Lord, but [relied only] on the physicians". The demise of Asa is mentioned in a very short verse immediately following his diagnosis: "So Asa slept with his fathers [in death] the 41st year of his reign." What can we learn from this brief history?

     I am increasingly finding myself on the fringe of society; even among my fellow Christians. As we continue to swirl around in this "Covid stew of confusion", I am amazed at how easily led some people are to the spirit of fear. Charisma Magazine ran an article that really spoke to my heart, and I think shows us how some of us could identify with King Asa. The article was reflecting on the various comments on Facebook regarding how best to traverse the contradictory information we receive from the media on how to defeat the pervasive Coronavirus.

     One commenter said, "Show me the verse in Scripture that says God heals everything except Coronavirus". That got me to thinking about what Christians believe when it comes to how best to react during this pandemic. Depending on where you live, local authorities across the country have differing opinions as to what our behavior should be. Responses range from mandating we shut everything down, to more lenient policies of opening up businesses while maintaining common sense precautions. When is it okay to go without a mask? Is it really necessary to wear one while driving by oneself in a car? Even the Doctors and Scientists can't agree on the optimum solutions to Covid!

     Some advocate six more months of shutdown and quarantine, with schools closed and everyone locked away in their homes; while others say we must adopt a "herd immunity" mentality, whereby everyone eventually becomes exposed to the disease and the virus dies out, so to speak, as people get the virus and recover. But even that solution is not universally agreed upon. Do you attain herd immunity through vaccinations which have been rushed into existence, or do you achieve it through natural infection? You can see why there is so much stress and anxiety in the population. But we Christians are not supposed to resemble the general population.

     So, why do so many Believers turn to Science and Doctors for deliverance from this virus, rather than God? Perhaps the answer lies in Matthew 13:58, "And [Jesus] did not do many miracles there, because of their unbelief." As Christians, do we turn to the Doctor for a magic pill or procedure [or vaccination] to cure us before we turn to Jesus, who showed us that the power of God to heal is in us? How many, who call ourselves Believers, are afraid to walk among the general population without a mask? I'm not talking about being foolish and subjecting yourself to the company of someone obviously infected and suffering from Covid, or any other communicable disease, for that matter. I'm talking about being so paranoid that you avoid people all together or refuse to attend church or family outings because you can't "safely distance yourself"? What happened to our faith in believing our God is who He says He is? When did our unbelief begin to shake the very foundations of our faith? And when did the so-called "facts" from the so-called "experts" exceed our confidence in God's power?

     I choose to believe the Word when it says that I abide in Christ and He abides in me. To me, that means that I have a life-giving connection with Him; He lives in me, and I live in Him. So when I leave my home, I picture myself stepping inside the realm that is Christ, where Covid cannot touch me. And while I trust in the medical advice that Zinc, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin C are powerful fighters against the virus, I also see God's Living Water continually flowing through my lungs, washing away anything that might try to attach itself. Plus, I anoint my lungs with holy oil so that the virus is unable to become lodged in my lungs. And, of course, I always keep my spiritual armor on, and my shield of faith in position, along with the Sword of the Spirit at constant readiness. 

     I know there are some, even among the Christian community, who would claim I am hopelessly naive, at the least, or insensitive and careless of others, at worst. But I identify more with the Canaanite woman who approached Jesus to get healing for her daughter, than I do King Asa. That woman was willing to accept the bread crumbs from the Master's table, believing that even the smallest portion of what the Lord offers is enough to receive a miracle for her daughter. And yet, do you know how much that offended Jesus's disciples? It's no different today! I know that my belief in Jesus has offended the unbelief in the Doubters. I know that my confident faith in Jesus is seen as foolish and potentially threatening to those who walk in fear. I know, because I have seen the looks of disgust as I remove my mask immediately after exiting the grocery store; or when I have to pull it down to take a breath of fresh air instead of feeling confined by a piece of cloth that has not been proven to stop the spread of the virus anyway.

     Personally, I have chosen to wage war against this virus in the Spirit, refusing to give in to Satan's spirit of fear, and instead, opting to walk in the promises of Jesus. Throughout the Book of Matthew, Jesus shows us time and again that He healed everyone who came in faith and believed that He could heal them. It was their unbelief that caused them to doubt if healing was possible, and ultimately kept them from seeking Him. 

     I choose to live like the Canaanite woman, employing a supernatural faith that miracles and wonders still exist today. No weapon formed against me can prosper and no plague shall befall me as I live in the secret place of the Most High God and abide under His Shadow! I will trust in His protection and His provision. That doesn't mean that I will ignore safety measures or put anyone else needlessly in harm's way. I will continue to do the smart things that ward off all infectious disease. But I will also not give in to another's fear or worry that comes from their faithless unbelief. Neither will I be deceived by faithless Science or faulty human wisdom. I serve a supernatural God from whom all blessings flow, and I live in His Kingdom system, not the world's. Unlike King Asa, I turn to the Lord first, instead of putting my faith in man. Anything less does not honor the One who has defeated Death.

"The All Seeing Eye": Searching For The Light & Immortality -- Part II

   
      On Wednesday, I wrote about the history and symbolism of the Pineal Gland.  In researching this topic, I was amazed at the range of articles on this endocrine gland -- everything from occultic to scientific to the bizarrely spiritual. While I do not endorse all the references I have used, they have provided enough common ground that I think they warrant attention.  Today, I want to show you some rather unsettling theories that surround this mysterious gland, also referred to as the Third Eye, or the All-Seeing Eye, and why both ancient and modern cultures are so fascinated with it.

     In fact, you might have heard "the All-Seeing Eye" also referred to as "the Eye of Horus".  Horus was one of the most significant deities in ancient Egyptian religion, who was worshipped from at least the late Pre-dynastic period through to Greco-Roman times.  He is most commonly understood as the son of the gods Isis and Osiris, and he plays a key role in the Osiris myth as Osiris's heir and the rival to Set, the murderer of Osiris.  But the one thing you need to understand is that he is just one more personification of the spirit of Nimrod, the original man of rebellion against God.  (Read my post on false gods and Nimrod to get the Biblical perspective).
     Then there was the Greek god, Hermes; the son of Zeus, who was considered a god of transitions and boundaries.  Mythology tells us Hermes wandered in a rocky, desolate place to meditate and pray. Following secret instructions of the Temple, he freed his higher consciousness from bondage to his physical senses. Thus released, his divine nature revealed to him The Mysteries. He beheld a terrible, awe-inspiring figure: the Great Dragon, with wings stretching across the sky and light streaming in all directions from its body.  The Great Dragon called Hermes by name, and asked why he meditated on the World Mystery. Terrified, Hermes prostrated himself before the Dragon, beseeching it to reveal its identity. The great creature replied it was Poimandres, the Mind of the Universe, Creative Intelligence, and Absolute Emperor of all.  Hermes besought Poimandres to disclose the nature of the universe and the constitution of the gods. The Dragon acquiesced, bidding Hermes hold its image in his mind. Immediately Poimandres' form changed. Where it had stood was a glorious, pulsating Radiant Light, the spiritual nature of the Great Dragon itself. Hermes was "raised" into the midst of this Divine Radiance and the material universe faded from his consciousness.
     Can you see how this search to discover a "higher consciousness" pervades all cultures, and has been sought after throughout history?  Can you see that man, in his desire to acquire this "All-Seeing Eye" is, in effect, trying to discover the mystery of God?  To become like God?  One only need to look at men like Nikola Tesla to see the beckoning call towards "higher consciousness".  In a post I wrote on Tesla, I discovered that he was aware, as a child, that there was an Energy in the Universe, and of trying to awake that energy, and figure out how it could influence people.  He told his interviewer,  "My eyesight and hearing are perfect and, I dare to say, stronger than other people. I hear the thunder from a hundred fifty miles away, and I see colors in the sky that others cannot see. This enlargement of vision and hearing, I had as a child. Later I consciously developed [it]."  I believe he was seeking this "enlargement" through the Pineal Gland.
      In an article by Naomi Astral, she writes that "the symbol of the All-Seeing Eye, has always been part of Earth's creation mythologies and mysteries. In Ancient Egypt, it was symbolised by the Eye of Horus, and conveyed protection, royal power, and good health. The symbol was passed down, through the ancient mystery teachings and can be found on the American dollar bill."
    She goes on to report that "the eye is the observer of reality - or the illusion of reality. This gland is activated by Light (her choice to capitalize the word), and it controls the various biorhythms of the body. It works in harmony with the hypothalamus gland, which directs the body's thirst, hunger, sexual desire and the biological clock, that determines our aging process."  You might be interested to know that this gland is larger in children, and as we age, it begins to calcify and harden.  This fact will become more important as I proceed in this article.
     But what I'm about to reveal to you was not only shocking, but frightening because of its implications.  The beneficial effects of the hormone melatonin (secreted by the pineal gland) have been part of the health supplement scene for some time.  In fact, high melatonin production is known to be synonymous with a high immune system, a low cancer risk, long life, energy, stamina, and according to many, enhanced spiritual awareness.  By now, you should be getting the picture ... many see the Pineal Gland as the doorway to longevity (if not immortality) and enhanced spiritual knowledge.  And this is where it gets a little creepy.
     According to the article I read, there is a tradition dating back to at least 1000 A.D. in which Arabs, and later Europeans, engaged in the practice of 'eating mummy'.  Ancient mummies were ground up and eaten for medicinal and occult practices.  The article maintains that certain secret societies still participate in the eating of "live pineal glands" from sacrifices, as part of their rites and ceremonies.  There was a time I would have dismissed such stories as beyond the realm of reality, but our Enemy has become ever bolder in showing us how he operates, so I am not quite ready to disregard these accusations.
     Apparently, this practice was widespread in Egypt and Western Europe and it consisted of countless ancient African mummies being burned, ground up and made into a kind of powder in order to be eaten. This incredible act of cannibalism was considered an effective medical practice and folk remedy. The belief became widely prevalent that cures could be obtained by eating ground-up preserved bodies. 'Eating mummy' was considered effective in treating contusions, coughs, epilepsy, migraines, ulcers, cases of poison and as a general panacea.
     I will admit that some of the information gleaned from these articles was beyond my ability to comprehend or embrace.  Occult and scientific writings are cited that seem so fantastical -- ancient races of people with three eyes; shamans that can see with their minds, rather than their eyes; cave-dwellers in Tibet who meditated while on mushrooms and knew of a galaxy years before scientists discovered it.... all associated in one way or another with the pineal gland.
     But I was truly astonished to run across old newspaper articles that referenced the eating of pineal glands.  One such article in 1914, ran in the Times Dispatch of Richmond, VA, and the headline read as follows:  "A Food That Does Away With Youth:  Remarkable Discoveries About a Gland in the Brain That May Enable Science Rapidly To Change Children Into Men, Chicks into Chickens, Calves into Cows, to Sate War's Appetite for Meat and Men." Another article ran in The Washington Times in 1915, and its headline read, "Backward Children Are Helped By Medicinal Use of Pineal Gland Extract."  It's not hard to see that there has long been an interest in consuming the pineal gland to enhance our health.  These scientists, doctors, and researchers would have made Ray Kurzweil proud!
     But perhaps the primary focus of the 20th and 21st Centuries has been in the area of aging and the quest for immortality.  We even have a medical field devoted to it ... gerontology.  In the study of aging -- or gerontology -- there are two main groups of thought. One group believes that aging is a natural process programmed in the body. Meanwhile, the other group believes aging is unnatural and it’s the result of cellular damage accumulated over time.
     Remember that in Part I of this article, I mentioned that some medical experts tell us that our pineal gland begins to calcify with age.  Actually, the human pineal gland grows in size until about 1–2 years of age, and scientists have actually shown that calcification begins at the age of 2.  But here is a truly amazing fact:  the pineal gland is activated in a fetus at 49 days!  This most powerful gland that controls our hormones and sexuality is active and functional at 49 days after conception! Many scientists have expressed that it is at its most potent state in utero.  And that leads me down a path I did not want to go -- Planned Parenthood.
     Remember the recent undercover Planned Parenthood video scandal?  The Center for Medical Progress began releasing a series of videos about the Planned Parenthood abortion clinics, which featured executives and staffers at Planned Parenthood and affiliated businesses discussing and demonstrating human organ harvesting and the fetal body part trade.  Thanks to a website, called The Federalist, I was able to go to one source to find a summary of all those videos and get a pretty good picture of what the harvesting was all about.
     Time after time, in the videos, PP representatives make mention of their desire to deliver the head of a fetus without crushing it; to procure "tissues like brain, livers, thymus, pancreas, heart, lungs ... and sell the parts to researchers."  In video #7 (which the media claims doesn't exist), Holly McDonnell, an ex-procurement technician, talks about harvesting a late-term abortion:  "… its nose was very pronounced, it had eyelids, and its mouth was pronounced. And then since the fetus was still intact, she said, ‘okay, well, this is a really good fetus, and it looks like we can procure a lot from it. We’re going to procure brains.’ ”  Is this a secret reason that some legislators are seeking to allow late-term abortions?

     I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the picture.  So, is it too far-fetched to think that this harvesting of fetal brains could be tied to the procurement of pineal glands as some kind of magical cure for aging?  I mean, history shows it has been a practice for 1,000 years!  And with all the interest by transhumanists and the scientific community to achieve immortality, could this be an underlying benefit for the abortion industry?  I hate to admit it, but I believe the evil that is in the world will stop at nothing to offend God and His creation.  Just Google "eating pineal gland to prolong life" and see all the results that pop up!
     And, as if mutilating fetuses doesn't disgust God enough, there is always the search for an alternative spiritual experience; one in which man seeks to establish his own connection to the heavenly realms through his own power.  In essence, we are still in rebellion to God, and trying to become our own gods.
     As I have stated numerous times, nothing has changed since the Garden of Eden.  We are still rebelling, and trying to become equals with our Creator.  We are trying to set our own boundaries and lifespan, and seeking a more superior spiritual awakening.  But like Lucifer and Nimrod, and all who have come in a similar spirit, we will find that there is one set of Laws that govern the universe and all the heavenly realms.  In the end, it is His rules by which we must play.  For all the knowledge, and increased health, and "higher consciousness" that we gain, it will never be enough to usurp His Sovereignty.  And woe to those who try.

What Is Wrong With This Picture?

     Call me naive, simply skeptical, or perhaps it is time to dust off my tin foil hat, but something doesn't seem right about this sudden and nearly hysterical reaction to the Zika virus.  Does anyone else wonder why this epidemic seemed to appear out of nowhere?  I mean, just a month ago, it was barely on the radar... and now the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the virus a "Global  Health Emergency", and the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) is advising protected sex after a case of Zika in Texas was determined to have spread through sexual contact.
     Something just doesn't seem right ... like there is a hidden agenda (again) and we are being manipulated for some other purpose(s).  So, here are the issues that have me concerned:  First of all, there is a report that appeared on the Natural News website, which stated, "Now we may be seeing the first wave of the horrific destruction that can be unleashed by self-replicating genetically modified organisms. The Zika virus, now spreading with unbridled ferocity, appears to have been caused by the release of genetically engineered mosquitoes that scientists hoped would sharply reduce malaria infections."
     The report continues:  "The Zika virus outbreak currently gripping the Americas could have been sparked by the release of genetically modified mosquitoes in 2012," reports The Mirror. "The insects were engineered by biotechnology experts to combat the spread of dengue fever and other diseases and released into the general population of Brazil in 2012... The Aedes aegypti mosquito sub-species that carries both the Zika virus and dengue was the type targeted with genetically modified mosquitoes."  That would explain why the symptoms of the Zika virus are described as "resembling dengue fever".
     Needless to say, if this report is true, something went horribly wrong.  These GMO mosquitos were created by incompetent scientists and released by unconscionable biotech corporations, with no concern about the effects on the ecosystem or the human population.  And this leads to my second concern.  So-called experts are now linking the Zika virus outbreak to a condition called microcephaly, in which an infant’s skull is too small for his or her brain, often crushing or otherwise severely damaging the brain.  A high percentage of children with this condition suffer some sort of neurological disability or retardation, and most will suffer convulsions, and many children born with microcephaly die young.  Was there ever any consideration of the effects upon humans if bitten by one of these genetically modified mosquitos?
      So, what are the solutions?  Brazil, which has been particularly hard hit by the virus outbreak (more than 4,000 cases of infants born with microcephaly to mothers with Zika in their bloodstream in the past year, according to Breitbart.com) is now fumigating with pesticides in advance of Rio de Janeiro's upcoming Carnival season.  Since there is now suspicion that the virus is spread through sexual contact, and Carnival is always suspect for sexually transmitted diseases, the Zika virus is one more health concern that must be addressed, and it is being met with a vast chemical fog.
     But unprotected sex and pesticides are not my only concern about the rapid spread of this disease. The abortion industry is now taking advantage of the outbreak by pushing abortion as a solution to the problem of microcephalic births.  As Breitbart News reported January 29, Planned Parenthood has taken advantage of fears surrounding the Zika crisis in Brazil to promote the expansion of unrestricted abortion throughout Latin America. The abortion business has especially targeted those Latin American countries with restrictive abortion laws, such as El Salvador, in hopes of using the crisis to ease existing abortion legislation.  But Planned Parenthood is not the only one pushing this agenda.   Now Women on Waves, an organization which uses ships to offer safe abortion services outside the territorial waters of countries where the procedure is restricted or forbidden, has announced that they will begin serving areas affected by Zika.
     I am sorry, but my spirit is telling me that all this happened too fast, and seemed too coordinated.  Maybe I'm just a little too suspicious by nature.  But when the cause is a genetically engineered carrier and the acceptable solutions are spraying with chemicals or readily-available abortions, then something smells rotten to me!  All we need now is a new vaccine to come on the scene, and I will know for sure that it is all contrived for our destruction.  Please, God, show us Your truth!  The evil schemes of men are about to overwhelm us, and we need wisdom and the strength to endure!

NYC Ebola Patient: What's Wrong With This Picture?

   

     OK, how about a little conspiracy theory to start our day?  We've all heard the news reports about Dr. Craig Spencer, the physician from Doctors Without Borders, who became symptomatic with Ebola after returning to the U.S. --- and holds the distinction of being the first Ebola patient in New York City.  He is currently listed in "serious, but stable" condition.
     Dr. Spencer arrived back in the U.S., after treating Ebola patients in Guinea, West Africa.  He reportedly passed all the screening tests at John F. Kennedy Airport, and then proceeded to enjoy life in New York City.  He visited a local park, ate at The Meatball Shop restaurant, stopped by a coffee shop, found time to take a 3-mile long jog through another park, take a taxi to a bowling alley, and ride 3 different subway trains -- all within a week of returning stateside and coming down with a 103F fever and Ebola.
      Does anyone else think something about this smells fishy?  Naturally, the people of New York are a little unnerved; especially the neighborhoods in which he visited.  But it was one Twitter post that caught my attention ... "He took the subway from Harlem to Brooklyn?!?! YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE CITY SUBWAY SYSTEM TO DO THAT".
    Is it irresponsible of me to wonder why a doctor, who has seen the ravages of Ebola, and knows how rapidly it can spread, would seem to be so nonchalant about taking the necessary steps to make sure he was virus-free before potentially exposing a metropolis like NYC to this deadly disease?  Wouldn't it have been rational for him to take a few days to make sure he showed no symptoms?  After all, there is supposedly a 21-day incubation period.  Dr. Spencer hardly allowed enough time to see if he would begin showing symptoms, before exposing a nice chunk of NYC to the virus.
    Yeah, yeah, he says he wasn't feeling bad, just "fatigued".  But he sure managed to cover a lot of miles and visit a lot of places in three days for someone who was "so tired."  I'm just saying'... If I didn't know better, I would think this looked like an attempt to expose as many people as possible to the disease ... just in case he did come down with it.  Just think about all the potential victims who rode the three different subways; or all the people in the bowling alley, restaurant and coffee shop.  And how many people rode in the same cab he took, or came into contact with him during his hike in the park?  (OK, I'll admit I've got my tin foil hat on!)
     But let me share this little bit of news with you, as well. There's a YouTube video showing a 16-year-old neighbor of Dr. Spencer's being interviewed outside the apartment building in which they both live.  She comments on how nice he is, his dedication to his work with Doctors Without Borders, and she hasn't seen him in a few weeks.  But when (allegedly) shown a picture of Dr. Spencer by one of the reporters, she screws up her face, recoils for an instant, and says, "No, no.  That's not him."

    So what's the truth here?  Is this an Ebola false-flag event, inspired to cause fear?  Or do we have an actor playing Dr. Spencer in order to actually spread the disease?  Is the girl even his neighbor, or is she just another subterfuge to keep us off our guard?  Do any of these unsubstantiated rumors have anything to do with the fact that the U.S. government owns a patent on Ebola?  Doesn't it make just a little bit of sense that the good ol' Hegelian Dialect could be in play here?   You know -- create the problem so that your pre-determined solution can be applied to solving the problem.   An article on Western Journalism lays all out for you:  "Uncle Sam owns the patent on Ebola, but they also own the rights to all variations on Ebola, with the rights to all Ebola research. The official owner of this Ebola patent is: The Government of the US as Represented by the Secretary of the Dept. of Health. Essentially, it is a patent issued by The United States government to The United States government."
     How do you patent something that is supposed to be naturally occurring?  But what if it isn't?  Has it been altered in some way?  And what if the disease mutates so fast, that the entire population becomes exposed and the government has to accelerate the development of a vaccine for the masses? Nice way to make a few bucks, wouldn't you say -- let alone subject the world's population to possible cancer-causing agents?  (Remember that the World's Elite are looking for ways to reduce the earth's population, and that the CDC has admitted to the possibility that 10-30 million polio vaccines may have been contaminated).
     I really must admit that I wish my mind didn't turn towards these crazy scenarios.  I don't want to believe that man could be that devious or that greedy.  But then I realize how evil these times are, and that Satan can tempt man with evil schemes and plans.  I'd like to think that maybe I'm just too skeptical.  But tell me ... what has there been to generate any faith in our current system?  And now there is the whole confusing mess of a nurse who refuses to stay in quarantine!  I am just thankful that the devil's time is short, and my Lord is coming near.  I'm so weary of all this doubt and mistrust!

Ebola in Texas! And So Many Questions ...

   

     You can imagine the potential of fear and panic, now that a diagnosed case of Ebola has surfaced in the United States.  And we, here in Texas, are especially concerned.  We have very little information coming from health authorities, other than the patient is isolated in a hospital in Dallas, and is extremely ill.  But what facts we do know are not convincing us that the CDC has it all under control.
     We are repeatedly told via talking head doctors on major news outlets that this pernicious disease is only transmissible via bodily fluids, and that a person is not contagious unless presenting symptoms.  Even if I believed this line of reasoning --- and that's a big IF --- we have much to be anxious about.
     First of all, this patient came to Texas from Liberia, one of the hardest hit countries in West Africa.  According to a very detailed article on the UK's Daily Mail website, "People boarding planes in the outbreak zone are checked for fever, but that does not guarantee that an infected person won't get through."  So, it seems to me that an obvious question would be, "Why aren't we considering quarantining people when they arrive in this country from Liberia?"
     (SIDE NOTE:  Our history on quarantining is neither admirable nor well-executed.  Wikipedia reports that our immigration policy at the turn of the 20th Century included quarantine hospitals near Ellis Island after a pandemic of cholera broke out in 1910.  I also discovered a sad commentary on that period, in which "over 420 individuals — 85% of whom were children under the age of 13 years old — died in Quarantine at the two hospitals."  Family members of those contained were often allowed to proceed through customs, never knowing what happened to their loved ones, or where they were buried.)
     In this day and age, we are able to identify the symptoms of Ebola to include fever, muscle and joint pain, vomiting and bleeding; and we know that it may take as long as 21 days from exposure to an infected person before one starts showing these symptoms.  Again, The Daily Mail reports that "Health officials use two primary guidelines when deciding whether to test a person for the virus - whether that person has traveled to West Africa and whether he or she has been near friends or relatives or other people who have been exposed to the virus."  

     We know that this latest Ebola victim arrived in Dallas on September 20th, and began showing symptoms on the 24th, and subsequently went to a hospital on the 26th for treatment, only to be sent home with antibiotics.  Then on the 28th, two days later, he is diagnosed with Ebola and placed in isolation.  So what happened to these all-important "guidelines"?  I am assuming that 1) the hospital was aware he had arrived in the U.S. from Liberia, and 2) it certainly sounds like his symptoms on the 26th should have aroused some suspicion that Ebola might be suspected.  After all, he had been sick for 2 days already, and it only took 2 more days to demand his placement in an isolation ward!  As the article so clearly states, "It raises the frightening prospect that he was mixing freely with others for a full four days while showing symptoms of the virus -  the time when Ebola is most contagious." [my emphasis].
     Again, if you believe that symptoms must be present to be contagious, this is clearly reason for great concern on the part of anyone who might have come in contact with the patient -- from family members, to hospital personnel, to the public.  But, if you have suspicions that this disease could be airborne, and contagious far earlier than the 21 days to present symptoms, then that opens a much broader window for contagious scenarios -- fellow passengers on the plane from Liberia, and all those who came into contact with the patient post-arrival in the U.S.
     While U.S. health authorities have not been forthcoming in identifying the patient, the Daily Mail article quotes the president of the Liberian Community Association of Dallas-Fort Worth, lending some consideration that the patient is either Liberian himself, or his family has ties to Liberia -- all the more reason to question the initial hospital screening practices.

     From my understanding, the CDC continues to maintain that U.S. hospitals are quite capable of handling Ebola cases.  But is this proclamation due to the facts that this country only has four special isolation facilities, (such as those who treated Dr. Kent Brantley and his missionary colleague, Nancy Writebol in Atlanta), and there is no longer any of the experimental serum ZMapp that saved their lives?  Does it mean that any future cases of Ebola will not receive this specialized care and will have to rely on individual hospital protocol?   It will be important to see if the seriously ill patient in Dallas survives without the specified care that these two patients received.
     And speaking of Dr. Brantley, when testifying before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee, he was quick to label Ebola as "a fire straight from the pits of hell."  So without panicking, what should we, as individuals and families, do to prepare for the possibility of an outbreak?  I do not think it is inappropriate to prepare for the worst, and pray for God's mercy on this nation.  Inexpensive Tyvek suits, gloves, masks, and supplies such as Bleach and Hand Sanitizer are certainly items that should be considered.
     But what we need more than anything else is the truth!  I would like to know what is planned for the returning military personnel who are being sent to help contain the outbreak in Africa?  Can we rely on local, state and federal health authorities to provide accurate reports on new cases, as well as informing those who might have come into contact with infected patients?  We are being asked not to panic or react out of alarm ... but being less secretive and more forthcoming would go a long way towards calming irrational fears.
     Finally, I know that my trust truly belongs with the Lord.  I must rely on Him to protect me from this pestilence and the missteps and misjudgments of man.  He has the power and the authority to heal us.  May He protect this land!

The Harvest Suffers

   

     At first it was just a suspicion; now it appears conspicuous and incontrovertible.  After many innocent discussions with friends and family across the country, their remarks all seemed to point in the same direction:  "My tomatoes just didn't want to ripen this year; it took forever ... the flowers in my flower box just didn't produce blooms like they have in the past ... my corn didn't pollinate, and my peppers were fewer and smaller ... overall, my harvests have declined over the past few years."
     After the last two seasons of gardening, the remarks are no longer random; there is a steady lament over the diminished return from our growing seasons.  It doesn't matter where you live; it's happening everywhere. And, running the risk of being called ridiculous, I think I know why.
     It appears to me that the consequences of chemtrails can no longer be denied or disputed.  Geoengineering, in the name of "climate change", is readily admitted by top universities such as Oxford in the U.K.  In fact, on the Oxford website, they acknowledge one technique:  releasing light-colored sulphur particles or other aerosols into the atmosphere to reflect the sun’s rays back into space.
     And just how do we think that these particles and aerosols are released into the atmosphere?  If there is anyone who still cannot fathom the concept of chemtrails, this should alleviate any doubts.  And what happens to these "particles" after being released?  They are not just absorbed into the atmosphere; they fall to the earth and infiltrate our soil.
     Independent testing, such as those done on the air quality in Phoenix, Arizona, have discovered dangerous quantities of barium, nano aluminum-coated fiberglass [known as CHAFF], radioactive thorium, cadmium, chromium, nickel, desiccated blood, mold spores, yellow fungal mycotoxins, ethylene dibromide, and polymer fibers.  Many of these are anywhere from 200 to over 5,000 times the toxic health limits set by federal standards!
     You can go back several years and find research done on the harmful effects of this metal poisoning.  An article appearing on the Global Research website in 2010, stated "Barium is known to adversely affect the heart. Aluminum has a history of damaging brain function. Independent researchers and labs continue to show off-the-scale levels of these poisons. A few “anonymous” officials have acknowledged this on-going aerosol spraying... Numerous tests have been done to verify that these poisons are off the scale in their toxicity. They are documented in our water, in our soil, and in our air." 
      Is it any wonder that our respiratory allergy symptoms are year-long, and not just during "high pollen" seasons?   Doesn't it make sense that our soil would be deficient to produce a healthy, thriving and nourishing food supply?  And who can deny the possibility that major droughts throughout the country are not caused by such geoengineering?
     But how do we protect our ground from being saturated with such poisonous chemicals?  I ran across a 2008 article that suggested the following:  "When you see the tell-tale signs of the chemtrail "grid", wet the ground just enough to keep the moisture level up.  Using the thinnest sheets of plastic possible, cover your plants, creating a greehouse affect.  The plastic allows the sun to still penetrate, and the condensation that occurs from moistening the ground and plants beforehand, keeps the plants in fine shape."
     Ultimately, I'm just not sure there is anyway to keep us or our food supply adequately protected.  And now, when we are blessed enough to receive a good, steady downpour of rain, I find myself wondering what else is in that moisture; falling to earth and saturating the ground?
     But it's no use to bring up my suspicious musings to those who cannot see the evidence before their eyes.  I will just let them continue to add their fertilizers and speculate why their green thumb is disappearing, and their tomatoes and roses are dying on the vine.  We all need to realize that controlling and affecting the food supply is just another step towards population control, the maleficent design of mankind.  Right now, it is the harvest of souls that we need to be growing and cultivating. The time to reap is near at hand ...

     It still dominates the headlines ... EBOLA.  Breitbart.com reports that a Spanish missionary priest died of the disease in Madrid this last Tuesday.  They are also reporting that China has quarantined 8 medical workers who had direct contact with ebola patients in Sierra Leone while helping to treat victims of the deadly virus.
     Breitbart is also reporting that there is grave concern in China over the spread of the virus, as it is estimated that 20,000 Chinese citizens are living and working in the three African countries most directly affected by Ebola.  If any of these health workers return to China carrying the virus, the potential spread of the disease among the crowded urban communities of China could potentially result in the deaths of thousands, if not millions.
     Then you have the changing position of the Center for Disease Control, who initially claimed that you had to come in contact with an Ebola patient to contract the disease.  Now, they have amended their statement to "being within 3 feet" of an infected person or "being in the same room" with an infected person can allow for transmission of the disease! They also admit a person who is infected, but not yet showing symptoms, is contagious!
     And finally, Bloomberg News is telling us that "The Ebola drug given to two Americans and a Spanish priest has been sent to treat infected doctors in two West African countries, and the supply of the medicine is now gone, its manufacturer said."  Which raises the serious ethical question ... with a shortage of any kind of medicine to combat the disease, who will receive the few available doses of life-saving drugs?  Will the poor Africans, or will it be dispensed to those with the resources and the money to demand it?

     That brings me to my recommendation .... More Pestilence and Plagues

     Ebola has captured the attention of the world and is producing fear throughout the populations.  But there is another threat waiting in the wings, and it is beginning its offensive ... Cholera.  You have to search for any news or reports on this new peril, but both Reuters and IRIN (Integrated Regional Information Networks) are sounding the alarm.
     IRIN is a humanitarian news and analysis service, under the auspices of the UN, that covers parts of the world often under-reported, misunderstood or ignored.  According to this source, there has been "a cholera outbreak in northern Cameroon which has killed at least 75 people and infected some 1,400 others since April."  The disease has been a recurrent problem in the country due to the scarcity of water, poor public health care, and improper hygiene.
     This threat is also exasperated by Nigerian refugees who have flooded neighboring Cameroon in an effort to escape the bombings and attacks by Nigeria’s Boko Haram Islamic extremist militia.  According to local health authorities, more than 26,000 cholera cases have been reported in Nigeria since the start of the year, and now it threatens to extend to western parts of Central Africa.
     A UNICEF representative in Cameroon reports, “We are monitoring the situation. It’s a worry because there is a risk of regionalization towards Chad, Central African Republic if we do not curb the spread. We hope that the security situation will allow community mobilization to go on.”  But the shortage of health care workers could hinder the containment of the disease, and preventing cross-border infections is a high priority.
      Reuters reports that the mortality rate for those infected ranges between 1 and 50 %, depending on access to treatment.  A similar outbreak in Cameroon killed more than 4000 people in 2011/12.  The United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) said some 60,000 refugees have fled into Cameroon, Niger and Chad from northern Nigeria.  Some of them are carrying the disease.

    To be sure, it is a complex situation in Africa.  Between the poor health practices, too few health workers, and refugees from Nigeria's militant Boko Haram, Cameroon is fighting an uphill battle.  Add the fact that Nigeria recently reported its first Ebola claims, and you can see a crisis in-the-making.
     But West Africa is not the only hot-spot for Cholera.  Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam is also under threat of a cholera outbreak.  The Thanh Nien Daily News reports that contaminated surface water in the form of fecal bacteria is 10 times higher than safe levels.  The Minister of Health warns, “Cholera [can] quickly explode into a major outbreak. In the long term, it can spread and develop new and more fatal strains. I suggest that we take determined action for the safety of a city of more than eight million people."  Just imagine, in a city of that size, what the fatality numbers could be if this disease is not contained.
     So now we have two potential epidemics on the horizon.  Many in the 21st century have probably thought we were immune to the devastating consequences of history's major plagues.  But there have been seven cholera pandemics in the past 200 years, with the seventh pandemic originating in Indonesia in 1961.  Since the 19th century, there have been tens of millions of deaths due to cholera.
     Clean and sanitary water supplies are necessary to stop the spread of Cholera and oral rehydration with electrolytes is essential for recovery.  Similarly, balancing fluids and electrolytes to counter dehydration is also crucial in treating Ebola.  But now we see the world suffering from extreme drought and the availability of a dependable water supply is becoming more scarce.  So will vaccines become the "go to" solution?  Or is this just a convenient "method" of the Elite to control the world's population?
     I hate to sound so pessimistic and conspiratorial, but modern scientists would have us believe that there is nothing that man cannot conquer through the god of science; yet we have a disease (Ebola) that they admit they cannot conquer, and there is no known cure.  When Jesus tells us in Luke that there will be "upon the earth, distress of nations, and perplexity", He is telling us that in the End Times there will be no solutions for such things as wars, famine and pestilence.  Man will fail in his dominion over the earth ... and boy, have we!  We do not have the remedy ... He does!
     I do not know if these outbreaks of deadly diseases and viruses will be a tool in the hand of Satan, but I do know this --- I can only rely and trust on the saving grace of God; on the gift of salvation and eternal life through my faith in His Son.   Should these things come to pass, I will be looking up, for my redemption is close at hand.  We must help others to realize that the time is near.

Ebola: The World On Alert

     The word alone is enough to strike fear in the hearts of every person on earth ... Ebola.  It used to be the farfetched, but frightening, epidemic that novels and movies employed to scare the bejesus out of us.  It was the most excruciating death that writers and film-makers could imagine, and their depictions were always graphic and horrifying.
    Now, the disease has become reality.  We've known for some time that the disease was real and active; but it was a continent away in Africa.  We tried to pretend "out of sight, out of mind."  But the death toll is climbing, and more and more news sources are reporting on it.  When The Washington Post runs a headline that says, "This Is The Worst Ebola Outbreak In History.  Here's Why You Should Be Worried," well .... it tends to make you take notice.

     Although the 670 deaths (so far) in West Africa from Ebola is quite alarming, I believe there was hope that it could be contained.  Now, that hope is taking a serious hit.  There were several incidents this past weekend that has the world on edge.  Nigeria became the latest country to report a death from the virus.  Then a woman in the capital city of Freetown, Sierra Leone also died, and a distinguished doctor in Liberia, Samuel Brisbane, died after fighting the disease for several weeks.  But he wasn't the only one in Liberia to come under the curse of this deadly illness.
     A U.S. doctor and a health worker, both associated with Samaritan's Purse, a charitable organization, have both been reported as contracting the disease and are under medical care in Liberia.  Plus a Liberian Finance Ministry employee, with a family here in the U.S., began suffering the effects of Ebola while en route from Liberia to a conference in Nigeria.  Although he was quarantined after arriving on his flight to Liberia, he later died.  Just how many people could have been infected is unknown.
     These events over the last few days point to the very real possibility that there could be a world-wide epidemic.  And there is real cause for concern.  Here are just a couple of facts from the Wikipedia description of Ebola:  There is no specific treatment for the virus.  Common efforts to help people include giving the person either oral rehydration therapy or intravenous fluids.  The disease has a high death rate: often between 50% and 90%.  Efforts are ongoing to develop a vaccine; however, none exists as of 2014.  That's all I need to know, to discern that this is a very real threat.
     Although airline flights are being suspended and border crossings are being monitored, no one knows if the virus has already been spread to unwitting carriers.  The wife of the Liberian government employee reported that her husband was planning a return trip to the U.S. in August to celebrate his daughters’ birthdays.  World Net Daily reported that Patrick Sawyer's wife, Decontee, told her local newspaper,  “Patrick was coming here.  What if he still wasn’t displaying symptoms yet and came?”  In a TV interview with her local news station KSTP in Minneapolis, MN, she related, “It’s a global problem, because Patrick could’ve easily come home with Ebola. Easy. Easy. It’s close, it’s at our front door. It knocked down my front door.”

     And her fear is warranted.  In that same WND article, the CDC tell us,  “Early symptoms of the disease include … sudden fever, chills and muscle aches.  Around the fifth day after onset of symptoms, a skin rash can occur. Nausea, vomiting, chest pain, a sore throat, abdominal pain and diarrhea may follow. Symptoms become increasingly severe and may include jaundice, severe weight loss, mental confusion, shock and multi-organ failure.”  Apparently, the incubation period for the disease can be between two and 21 days before symptoms appear, and doctors with the CDC want us to believe that the disease is not contagious unless symptoms are present.  Are you willing to trust them?  Can they guarantee us that a victim is not contagious until the symptoms occur?  And those early symptoms sound an awful lot like a lot of other benign illnesses.
     But here is what has me on red alert:  In the WND article, Dr. Stephan Monroe, the deputy director of CDC National Center for Emerging & Zoonotic Diseases, told reporters yesterday that even if a case did show up in the U.S., he expects it would be contained by the basic practices of Western medicine.  “We’re confident the standard care of U.S. [hospitals] would prevent much of the transmission should a case show up here."  Need I remind you that antibiotic resistance and mutation rates have contributed to an alarming number of Staph and MRSA-related deaths in hospital settings?  I know, because my mother died of a staph infection after knee-replacement surgery.  I agree with Dr. Monroe that our U.S. hospitals and procedures stand a better chance of eliminating the spread of Ebola once patients are admitted to the hospital.  But no one can predict how quickly and stealthily this lethal virus could spread, before patients start showing up at Emergency Rooms.  What if it creeps into our country undetected?
     Can you think of a better way to wreak havoc upon this nation that to introduce an Ebola-infected illegal alien across our southern border?  With buses of people being shipped all over the country, it doesn't take a genius to see how rapidly this virus could become a fatal epidemic.  The CDC is cautioning against fear and misinformation.  They are correct in that Ebola cannot yet be classified as an epidemic.  But its reach is getting longer and I believe that we could become vulnerable to an outbreak, whether accidental or intentional.  I pray that this deadly virus, with no cure, does not reach our shores, and it is not the personification of the Fourth Rider of the Apocolypse...

A "Game-Changer" or An "Eliminator"?

     I hate that I am at the point of questioning every "good" report or research discovery that comes from the latest health/government/university study.  Now, claims that the heinous disease of Alzheimer's will be the new beneficiary of ground-breaking research once again leaves me wondering if we are being helped or hindered.
     Scientists and researchers from no less than the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization; Dr Simon Ridley, head of science at the charity Alzheimer's Research UK; US researchers at Harvard Medical School; and scientists at Columbia University are all supporting their findings that simple and regular eye tests could be used to identify Alzheimer's disease at a very early stage.

     In fact, the health editor at The Telegraph, writes that "early trials of two different techniques show that a key biomarker for the disease can be identified in the retina and lens of the eye.  Both methods were able to distinguish between healthy volunteers and those likely to be suffering from Alzheimer's patients with a high level of accuracy."  She goes on to say that, "Experts said the findings could be a “game changer” in treatment of the condition."  (I'm not real thrilled with that word "likely".  Are you?)
     And here's where my cynical little mind goes to work .... a US company called Cognoptix, Inc is involved in this research and supplied an ointment that provided a promising biomarker for the detection of beta amyloid proteins responsible for the formation of plaques in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.  The co-founders of this company just happen to be the two doctors who identified the biomarkers, and I'm assuming, developed the ointment.  Furthermore, the Cognoptix, Inc. website says "Cognoptix is currently developing combined optical scanning devices and diagnostic agents based on these discoveries for clinical, commercial and academic research use. The company is actively forming and seeking new strategic alliances with pharma partners and academic institutes, while preparing its diagnostic platform for clinical use."  (My emphasis).
     Maybe I'm just a tad bit too suspicious, but a couple of red flags just popped up!  There have been quite a few indications that Big Pharma and Obamacare are willing bedfellows; among them the connections between Liz Fowler (the architect of the Affordable Care Act) and the nation’s largest health insurance provider Well Point.  She has also lent her considerable insider Washington influence and power to pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson.
     What would keep Big Pharma, and companies like Cognoptix, Inc and the government from colluding to identify potential Alzheimer's victims, and subsequently a) denying them health care coverage, or b) passing their names on to possible "death panels"?
     Shaun Frost, the Australian scientist/researcher who led the study, said, ""We envision this technology potentially as an initial screen that could complement what is currently used: brain PET imaging, MRI imaging, and clinical tests.  If further research shows that our initial findings are correct, it could potentially be delivered as part of an individual's regular eye check-up."  So now your eye exam can be used to add you to another "list".
     Having watched family members suffer from this awful disease, I welcome any medical advancements that would help to identify and treat this illness.  But even Cognoptix, Inc. admits that diagnosing the disease is a challenge and, to my knowledge, there has been no scientific or medical breakthrough for curing it.  So, it seems to me that the positive aspect of this latest study is that it offers the opportunity for early detection, and hopefully, would encompass attempts to slow down the progress of the disease.
     I guess the negative aspects depend on whether you trust the government, the health insurance companies and Big Pharma, who stand to make a lot of money on the application of any ointments or medical procedures.
     Like I said at the beginning of this post, skepticism has become the bane of my existence when it comes to any health procedure that the academics claim will "help" me.  I wish I could feel that their concern for humanity trumped their "strategic alliances" and greed for the Pharma dollar.

Beware! A New Microchip Application

     There are so many red flags in an article that I read on C/Net this week.  A company called MicroCHIPS of Lexington, Massachusetts has developed a small microchip that, when implanted, allows a woman to remotely control her reproduction.  The company is touting this new development as a convenient way for a woman to control her contraception .... she simply turns the chip off when she wants to conceive, and then back on again to stop any possibility of pregnancy.
     The chip is designed to last 16 years, and delivers a daily dose of 30mg of a drug called  levonorgestrel, used in several hormonal contraceptives and emergency contraceptives.  But here's my first red flag ... when I researched this particular drug, it was identified as the main ingredient in the "morning after pill", whose claim to fame is that it is birth control you can use to prevent pregnancy up to five days (120 hours) after unprotected sex.  As Planned Parenthood is proud of saying, "Accidents happen", and this is an excellent form of "emergency contraception".  In other words, it prevents the implantation of a fertilized egg, which in my book, amounts to an abortion of a living embryo.

     Some of the brand names of this drug include Escapelle, Plan B, "Next Choice" and 72-HOURS, none of which sound like they celebrate life.  Granted "contraception", in general, implies the deliberate use of artificial methods or other techniques to prevent pregnancy as a consequence of sexual intercourse.  I get it; it is a popular method to keep women from getting pregnant who don't wish to.  But I have real concerns that the primary drug in this new microchip has a reputation for destroying eggs after they have been fertilized and implanted, resulting in the destruction of a viable pregnancy.
     The second red flag is that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Family Planning program is involved.  Hopefully you are aware that overpopulation is a huge issue for Mr. Gates.  At the beginning of 2014, he is quoted as saying, "[Overpopulation] is a huge impediment in convincing rich world donors that they should feel good about these health improvements. Our foundation focused in the 1990s on reproductive health. We wanted to make contraception available because we thought population growth would make everything so difficult, whether it’s the environment or feeding kids or stability. It was only when we found out about this phenomenal connection between improved health and reduced population growth that we felt: Great, let’s just make the foundation as big as possible to go after these health problems."
     I'm pretty sure that he sees too many pregnancies as one of these "health problems".  So, I find it very curious that the idea for the device originated two years ago in a visit by Bill Gates and his colleagues to Robert Langer’s MIT lab. Gates and his colleagues asked Langer if it were feasible to create birth control that a woman could turn on and off and use for many years. Langer thought the controlled release microchip technology he invented with colleagues Michael Cima and John Santini in the 1990s and licensed to MicroCHIPS might offer a solution.
     So, let me think about this .... as a woman, would I want to trust my reproductive health to a man that openly espouses population control?  Would I really think that any contraceptive device he was involved in developing could guarantee that I had control over my reproductive options?  That I could get pregnant any time I wished to?
     Then there's the red flag that was raised when I realized the implications that the technology could go beyond contraceptives. Inside the chip is a reservoir array which contains and protects, in this case, the hormone. In these reservoirs, however, any drug could be placed, to be released on demand, or according to a pre-programmed schedule.  I'm sorry, but the potential for that to be used for evil schemes is just too apparent.  The MicroCHIPS website states, "These arrays are designed for compatibility with preprogrammed microprocessors, wireless telemetry, or sensor feedback loops to provide active control. Individual device reservoirs can be opened on demand or on a predetermined schedule to precisely control drug release or sensor activation."
     Who will monitor exactly how these devices will be used?  And what would keep a corrupt health facility or practitioner from "managing" an aging population or determining that a portion of society was expendable?  Could this be a new delivery system for Mr. Gates' favorite health priority, vaccines?  Oh, there's one more thing ....  MicroCHIPS reports that there's the slight problem of some logistics to work out -- such as encrypting the chips to keep wireless data secure -- but "the concept has been proven to work as desired."  I bet it has!  Unencrypted data would allow them to know our medical history and make those important decisions about what drugs would be best for the elimination of our "conditions" ... or us!
     I'm sure I sound super paranoid, and perhaps the Elite have no such plans for controlling the world's population.  Perhaps they really do want to help us poor and downtrodden peasants be as healthy as we can be.  But anytime that anyone suggests that implanting a chip in me that works by "sensor activation", or has the ability to dispense "any drug" through wireless, preprogrammed protocols, then I'm out.  I will just rely on God to be my Healer and leave the fallen angel technology to those who want to trust in this world system.

Have We Learned Anything From Fukashima?

     I ask you, have you considered the impact of Fukashima on the U.S. homeland?  Or do you think it is so far away that it doesn't really concern us?  Are you willing to trust "government officials" with their "everything is OK" rhetoric?  Because I can promise you that for every assurance over the last three years that Fukashima has had no effect on sea life in the Pacific Ocean or on our Western coastline, I can produce a credible source warning us that the ramifications are serious and alarming.  I don't know about you, but if it is the government telling me that it's safe, then I'm probably going to rely on my own gut instinct, and every fiber of my being tells me something is fishy (pardon the pun).
     If it is true, as reported by TruNews, that city officials in towns near Fukashima have warned parents not to allow children up to two years old to spend more than 15 minutes outside each day, or those aged 3 to 5 should limit their outdoor time to 30 minutes or less, then I'm going to assume that radiation levels are still extremely high in Japan and that the disabled plant is far from secure or nontoxic.  And are we really expected to believe that this radiation has been contained?
     Of course, you will hear all kinds of denials from accredited "government" scientists that say the warnings of Fukashima-related fallout are patently false and the result of fear-mongering.  But how can we discount all of the following reports recently listed on Freedomoutpost.com?  Here are just a few that caught my attention, and I urge you to read the entire article and make up your own mind.
Sailors affected - U.S. Navy sailors on the USS Ronald Reagan responded to the 2011 Fukushima disaster in Japan for four days, and many returned to the U.S. with thyroid cancer, Leukemia, brain tumors and more.  As Ecowatch.com pointed out, at least 71 sailors—many in their 20s—reported radiation sickness and will file a lawsuit against Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), which operates the Fukushima Daiichi energy plant.  The ship's water supply was contaminated, which led to crew members drinking, washing their bodies and brushing their teeth with contaminated water. Paul Garner, an attorney representing 51 sailors, said at least half of the 70-plus sailors have some form of cancer.
Starfish are dying - Something is causing starfish all along the west coast of the United States to literally disintegrate into piles of “white goo“… Dr. Peter Raimondi of the University of Santa Cruz says something is making starfish susceptible to what is believed to be a bacteria coined “Wasting Disease.” It essentially disintegrates the marine invertebrates into a white goo after the starfish loses its legs, and Dr. Raimondi believes that radiation from Fukashima could be partially to blame.
Bald eagles are dying -  More than 20 majestic bald eagles have died in Utah in the past few weeks alone — and nobody can figure out why.  Normally the birds are skittish and restive, but farmers across northern and central Utah have found them lying listless on the ground. Many suffered from seizures, head tremors and paralysis in the legs, feet and wings.
Alaska is suffering - The coastlines of Alaska have been awash with dead birds that are “broken open and bleeding”; seals and walruses who are losing their hair and oozing "open sores", as well as polar bears suffering fur loss and open sores;  the population of sockeye salmon along the coastlines of Alaska is at a “historic low”, and Pacific herring are bleeding from their gills, bellies and eyelids.
Warnings from others - Everyone from newspapers like The Vancouver Sun (Canada) to the deputy chairman of Russia’s State Duma Committee for Natural Resources, to a senior researcher of marine chemistry at the Japan Meteorological Agency’s Meteorological Research Institute say that the Pacific Ocean is being ruined by radioactive material that is a direct result of Fukashima.
     But perhaps the most heartbreaking analysis comes from a seasoned Australian mariner who, as he journeyed from Japan to San Francisco, stated that he felt as though "the ocean itself was dead."  Here are his exact words:  “We hardly saw any living things. We saw one whale, sort of rolling helplessly on the surface with what looked like a big tumour on its head. It was pretty sickening.  I’ve done a lot of miles on the ocean in my life and I’m used to seeing turtles, dolphins, sharks and big flurries of feeding birds. But this time, for 3000 nautical miles there was nothing alive to be seen... ".
     Do you honestly think that all this is made up? If even a modicum of it is true, we have much to be concerned about.  And if you carry this situation out to its logical conclusion, it should make you worry (at least a little bit) about the safety of our own nuclear plants.
     The website, Mashable, introduced a nerve-shattering scenario -- at least from my perspective.  After the Fukashima disaster, it seems obvious that we, here in the U.S., have to be concerned about damage to our nuclear power plants due to hurricanes and storm surge flooding.  But they propose another scenario that, according to U.S. geologists, is "inevitable and only a matter of time."  That event is a major earthquake along the New Madrid fault, which lies in the heart of the Midwest United States.
     When -- not if -- this major quake hits, here are the projections:   it kills or injures 60,000 people in Tennessee. A quarter of a million people are homeless. The Memphis airport — the country’s biggest air terminal for packages — goes off-line. Major oil and gas pipelines across Tennessee rupture, causing shortages in the Northeast. In Missouri, another 15,000 people are hurt or dead. Cities and towns throughout the central U.S. lose power and water for months. Losses stack up to hundreds of billions of dollars.
     BUT here is the one fact that rarely crosses anyone's mind ... there are 15 Nuclear Reactors on that New Madrid fault line -- three reactors in Alabama -- that are of the same or similar design as the site in Japan experiencing problems!  Geologists have been warning us for years now, that the New Madrid earthquake is "imminent".  In the wake of Japan's catastrophe, shouldn't we be preparing for something similar?
     So what does that look like?  FEMA's disaster planning coordinators are worried about 750,000 buildings that would be damaged; 3,000 bridges that would potentially collapse; 400,000 breaks and leaks to local pipelines; and 7.2 million people that would be displaced.  Is anyone concerned about the damage from radiation?
     It has been three long and harrowing years since Fukashima came onto our radar.  I, for one, feel that the radiation of seas, plant/animal life, environment and humans is worthy of concern, and yes, even a rational amount of fear.  While I understand that these things are totally within God's control, I am also aware that, unfortunately, it is man's lack of using the brain the Good Lord gave him that often spells the difference between success and disaster.  And based on the response to Fukashima, I don't have a whole lot of confidence that we are in safe hands.

How Does The War In Afghanistan Relate To A Popular Actor's Death?

     I cannot say for sure, but there appears to be a long line of dots that connect these two events.  I remember a vague conversation three years ago with a returning vet who stated that the opium and poppy trade was one of the few ways the Afghanis had of supporting themselves, and the hint that part of his job had been to patrol and protect the native industry.
     Then I started running across headlines like this:  One Million Deaths From Afghan Heroin; Russia Lashes Out At NATO for Protecting Afghan Drug Production; and Drug War?  U.S. Occupation Leads To All-Time High Heroin Production.  
     These articles make the outrageous allegations that the U.S. government has protected drug operations; that Big American banks launder money for the various drug cartels; and even that the drug trade was responsible for keeping our economic system afloat during the 2008 financial crisis!  Yet, would you be willing to refute these claims?

     The overdose death this past weekend of a talented film actor (Philip Seymour Hoffman) has shined the light on the dirty little secret that heroin addiction has become an epidemic in this country.  Various drug treatment facilities are reporting record numbers of deaths from heroin overdose.  Dr. Joseph Lee, of Hazelden Treatment Center, has seen it firsthand among the youth; almost half of the patients are addicted to opiates, up from 10 percent 10 years ago.  From 10% to 50% in ten years... let those statistics and that timeline sink into your brain.
     Then listen to the experts tell you how this addiction is accelerated ...  the path to addiction often starts innocently, with a prescription for Percocet, Vicodin or other opiates.  Scott Hesseltine, operations director at Hazelden Treatment Center, said the move from opiate addiction into full-blown heroin addiction can be very fast. Someone can start taking medicine for a toothache and become addicted to the pain medication. When the medications are gone, some turn to heroin, which is easier to get and cheaper.  Small packages of heroin can sell for as little as $6 on the street.  I have read articles from law enforcement agencies in Minnesota and Vermont, and virtually nationwide, proclaiming the upsurge in heroin addiction.
     And in New York, where Mr. Hoffman was found with a needle still in his arm and packets of heroin strung about his room, heroin seizures in New York State are up 67 percent over the last four years, according to the DEA.  Last year, the agency’s New York office seized 144 kilograms of heroin, nearly 20 percent of its seizures nationwide, valued at roughly $43 million. One recent raid, in the Bronx last week, netted 33 pounds of heroin and hundreds of thousands of branded bags.
     So, what has caused this epidemic of heroin abuse?  Some lay the blame on efforts to drive down abuse of prescription medications, saying as pills become more difficult to access, there is a shift to the black market and heroin.  But isn't that ignoring the real root of the problem?  Shouldn't we be focusing on why there is such a superabundance of heroin?  The website Global Research released a report in which they stated, "The cultivation of opium poppy in Afghanistan—a nation under the military control of US and NATO forces for more than twelve years—has risen to an all-time high, according to the 2013 Afghanistan Opium Survey released by the United Nations."  According to the report, cultivation of poppy across the war-torn nation rose 36 per cent in 2013 and total opium production amounted to 5,500 tons, up by almost a half since 2012.

     The New York Times reports that for years, American officials have struggled to curb Afghanistan’s opium industry, rewriting strategy every few seasons and pouring in more than $6 billion over the past decade to combat the poppies that help finance the insurgency and fuel corruption.  And while Global Research acknowledges that the opium industry is well known to help fuel the insurgency against US and NATO military forces, most opium farmers in Afghanistan continue to say that it is simply the only way they can make a living.  Yet despite having spent billions on eradication efforts in the country, the U.S. military has allowed poppy cultivation to continue in order to appease farmers and government officials involved with the drug trade who might otherwise turn against the Afghan Karzai government in Kabul. Fueling both sides, in fact, the opium and heroin industry is both a product of the war and an essential source for continued conflict.
     Just consider this explanation of the opium industry in Afghanistan as presented by Wikipedia:  Afghanistan has been the greatest illicit opium producer in the entire world, ahead of Burma (Myanmar), the "Golden Triangle", and Latin America since 1992, excluding the year 2001. Afghanistan is the main producer of opium in the "Golden Crescent". Opium production in Afghanistan has been on the rise since U.S. occupation started in 2001. Based on UN data, there has been more opium poppy cultivation in each of the past four growing seasons (2004–2007) than in any one year during Taliban rule. Also, more land is now used for opium in Afghanistan than for coca cultivation in Latin America. In 2007, 92% of the non-pharmaceutical-grade opiates on the world market originated in Afghanistan. This amounts to an export value of about $4 billion, with a quarter being earned by opium farmers and the rest going to district officials, insurgents, warlords, and drug traffickers.  In the seven years (1994–2000) prior to a Taliban opium ban, the Afghan farmers' share of gross income from opium was divided among 200,000 families. In addition to opiates, Afghanistan is also the largest producer of cannabis (mostly as hashish) in the world. [These statistics were formulated by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime].
     I will grant you that it's a long way from the poppy fields in Afghanistan to an actor/heroin addict's apartment in New York, but there is a direct correlation between the opium industry in that country and the addiction crisis that is sweeping our country.  The CDC has classified drug overdose as an epidemic, and statistics are showing that deaths by overdose (driven by the prescription opiates) have eclipsed death by car accidents in this country.
     On one side of the world, you have poor farmers and the seemingly unbreakable allure of poppy profits; and on the other side of the world, there are affluent Americans who seek new (and deadly) highs to escape the pain of their existence.  They have converged, we are now seeing an epidemic of devastation sweeping our land.  We are all familiar with the ravages of War ... death, destruction and despair.  Now, we can add one more element: addiction.
