A Modern Woman's Perspective On The Kingdom of God on Earth

How Can The Church Help?

All of us Christians with a Biblical worldview have no trouble seeing what is coming.  We feel it in our souls and especially in our spirits.  We are neither casual or cowardly Christians, and we discern the "signs of the times" with spiritual clarity.  As individuals, we feel the urgency in communicating with non-believers to get right with God and recognize their need for a Savior.  But we have also dived deeper into our Bibles and are actively communing with God as to what our mission is among our brethren in Christ.  Notice I said as individuals… but what is the Church, as the collective Body of Christ, doing to prepare for the chaos and collapse we know is inevitable?
To be honest, I don't see much happening.  In fact, I would venture that a majority of people in the pews each Sunday are unaware of the coming destruction.  And if they are alert to the prophetic events on the horizon, they tend to be frightened and disorganized.
Without too much understanding, it is not hard to figure out that an economic collapse is a very real possibility.  What happens when our state and federal agencies go bankrupt and people are left without the means for basic survival?  Here are a few suggestions for ways the Church could serve God's people during the crisis that we know is barreling down on us.  It is time the Church took a leadership role, and thanks to Charisma News, here are some really worthy suggestions:
1.  Professionals need to begin preparing networks.  We should be thinking and planning right now --- pastors and individuals with expertise in the areas it will take to survive should be setting up networks and training to become emergency crisis responders.  In every church, there are professionals we can network together who can be mobilized to serve a community in the case of a disaster (folks in the medical field, emergency responders, military personnel, psychologists, community leaders, elected officials and the police).  It will take all these people to keep our communities from descending into chaos.  A network already in place will save valuable time and lives.
2.  We need to be declaring storehouses for sustainable food and materials.  We know that it is very probable that our distribution infrastructure may be disrupted.  In that case, churches can store generators, emergency equipment such as first-aid kits, flashlights and food that can serve the needs of the most vulnerable within their congregations and communities… and do it beforehand.  There is no reason to wait until the crisis has already happened to be respond.
3.  Churches need to be prepared to assist in bartering ventures.  I think it is safe to say that paper money will be the first thing that goes if we have a global collapse.  Even gold and silver will not be available to everyone.  So the churches need to be thinking about what services they can help coordinate to offer ways for people to barter for what they need.  The Church could become sort of a central clearinghouse for people to offer and get services that will sustain them.
4. We need to prepare our local congregations to lead with a biblical worldview in every area of life.   And "lead" is the operative word here.  In times of social disruption and when society has lost its bearings, it provides believers the unique opportunity to fill the vacuum of leadership in all the major spheres of culture. We need to capitalize on this opportunity by providing leadership with problem-solving ability that is informed by what the Bible has to say regarding economic and political principles, so that newly formed policy measures will be blessed of God and not perpetuate the same humanistic systems.
5. We need to have unity and communication systems in place among churches in every region.  Doesn't it seem expedient for pastoral and church leadership to have key relationships in place throughout our cities that will enable us to have practical strategic responses and galvanize help where needed?  What are we waiting for?
6. We need to have long seasons of fasting and prayer for awakening and revival.  This goes without saying!  And it is past time to educate our fellow Christians on the reasons for fasting, and how to pray in the spirit for God's protection and blessings.  Once again, I ask … what are we waiting for?
7.  We need to network with key elected officials and community leaders.  That includes teachers to help lead alternate ways of educating our children.  But most importantly, when societal unrest and a deterioration of our most fundamental necessities is staring us in the face, we need to have a system of interconnected people who can exchange information and experience, resulting in a true support system.  That also includes those willing to train people to protect themselves, their families, and their churches.
I don't have to tell you that we are teetering on the edge… will it be economics, politics, a world war, or terrorism that will strike the first blow?  Or will we just implode on ourselves from our decaying and immoral culture?  Whatever form the destruction comes in, it is incumbent upon us not only as decent and good people, but as Christians -- God's representatives upon this earth -- to alleviate as much suffering and strife as we can.  By doing so, we can make the difference in people's lives; both in the here and now and for eternity.  We don't have a moment to lose!

Hebrews 11:7    "By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith."

  1. Great article and I agree with every point. I am an assistant pastor of a small church (120) and a chaplain at a Juvenile Detention center. I have tried over several years to get our head pastor to lead us in taking many of these steps. We have started a small pantry but other than that we haven't really taken any physical steps. Our church is very much pre-trib and we preach on it. However, me trying to get people to understand that tough times are here and worse to come is a lot harder. I know some families in our congregation who are prepping but most are not. I am a bit overwhelmed as I am prepping for four families on my budget. I think the "church" in America (those that are believers and not the apostate church) have been lulled into complacency and/or think prepping is somehow sinful.

    1. I see exactly what you're facing. And here is my BIG concern... what if the pre-trib position is wrong? How many of those faithful Christians in your congregation are going to be not only confused and distraught, but may even call their faith into question? Wouldn't it be prudent to prepare, just in case, and then if we are blessed enough to be raptured before the Tribulation, all those supplies and emergency plans will be there in place for the unbelievers to help them, and possibly lead them to Christ? I would not be surprised if somehow they also worry that prepping might "jinx" a pre-trib scenario. But you are doing what the Spirit is counseling you, so until He tells you to stop, you know you are in the Father's will. God bless you!

    2. Even though I/we are pre-trib in our theology it is more than likely it will not be "gumdrops and sunshine" leading up to this time period. Just looking at news headlines should be enough to see that. In my Bible study last night this topic came around and I was glad to see that all of those that were there appreciated talking about this and made a commitment to at least start putting aside food. Thanks for your faithfulness and for providing a forum for discussion, venting, fellowship!

  2. Good article Belle! I wish the church would listen to it!

  3. Great article! Belle addresses many ways the church can help. Sadly too many churches - even the wide awake ones - are missing this and time grows short. The early church was respected for being a model of helping each other, which is how they attracted so many new converts to the faith. Many of these methods are easy to implement, but we need to begin now. For additional ways we can help right now, read my article "Christians - Time to Divest OUT of American Babylon!" here: http://www.prepperchurch.com/living/christians-time-to-divest-out-of-american-babylon/

Thanks again Belle, for bring attention to this.
    In Christ,

  4. Whether you believe in pre trib, mid trib, or post trib. There will be bad times coming (I think). The Great Depression came and people starved to death. A whole lot more people lived on farms then.

If the rapture comes and God can lead someone to what I have, great. If not, I can eat it.

The number of people who follow Jesus that are preparing, is growing everyday. I don't think that is a coincidence.

  5. Most are asleep in the light, in total denial. If Christ had to suffer before and during the cross, what makes us so special in this day and age to "believe" we're going to get a walk in the park? We are going through this - and I used to be pre-trib, so it's about time we get our collective heads out of the sand as we're swimming deep in denial. The bigger problem is how many pastors will "lead" their flocks straight into the hands of the government for slaughter because they haven't been preaching the Word but rather, preaching a watered down, powerless "Christianity lite"? What happens if the pastor is the first taken out - most want to know who's going to lead, but I'd suggest more along the lines of, "who's got enough real biblical truth inside of them to teach the others who have been sleeping through Sunday services"?

I suggest you start looking at recent history for some answers to what's going on as what's happening is coming straight out of Nazi Germany pre-WW2. There are so few people alive from that era, and nobody teaches history, critical thinking, rhetoric, and logic anymore. The playbook is straight out of 1927-1938; don't give yourself the convenient excuse of you don't want to study the Nazis because they were insane. The best way to understand the evil coming your way is to look at the documentation they left behind. They were insane and crazy dumb, but they gave us a step by step look inside their brains - and by not destroying the documentation, we have a heads up of what's coming as long as THEY follow the blueprint already written for them.

    1. You have a clear picture of what is going on... I'd be interested in knowing what woke you up? But everything you say is absolutely accurate. Thank you for expressing it so well.

    2. Satan has tried to preempt God's plan many times in human history. That you cite his attempt via the National Socialist (Nazis) movement in Germany during the run-up to WWII is accurate and very instructive. Those who are unfamiliar should study up on how the Nazis co-opted the Church in Germany. Same tactics and techniques under different names are being used right now. Remember, Jesus warned us several times in Matthew 24 to "be not deceived!"

    3. Yes, the Nazis were steeped in occultism and Satanism. The Enemy just reuses the same plan over and over because we never learn to educate the generations that come after us.

  6. I have to split this post up into two parts because it's too long, so here's post 1 of 2

Belle, what woke me up would be considered nearly unheard of in the church community - I got out of the organized church and started paying attention to what the Word said. I play the KJV audio bible while I'm working and I play it all night while I sleep. I make it a point to soak in it as often as I can. Romans 12:1-2 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, but we can't do that embracing bogus doctrines of men. The church is highly polluted and no one is willing to face facts or clean it up. When you embrace gay marriage, cohabitation, abortion, and everything else but there's no real sign of repentance, what's the point of going to a building and throwing your money away via tithing IF you're fed a load of horse puckey?? I'd rather see that church go out of business and the building sold to a day care instead of leading bible illiterates to hell through the broad gate.

I also have nearly shut out all the "world view"/"global citizen" crud - you can't expect change to come into your life one or two hours a week (Sunday/ Wednesday nights) when you fill your brain with tons of TV "enertainment" and "nightly news". We waste good money after bad paying for the crap to come into our homes and then WONDER why we never have peace! We invite, PLANT, and HARVEST strife into our homes, and then we cry because we're getting rolled in the driveway every day and twice on Sunday.

We don't control our emotions - "...but I just don't FEEL led to do...." Two things right there - it's not about YOU, nor is about the way you let your feelings manifest. "I don't feel loved" - guess what? You're not supposed to have this warm and fuzzy from God to soothe your insecurities, you're supposed to look in God's Word and KNOW His promises are true when He says HE LOVES YOU. The modern church is all touchy-feely I wanna goosebump or a chill to know that God is there; He said He'd never leave you nor forsake you....why isn't His Word and the promises contained in ever enough? It's because they're' not reading the Word, they're trusting in preachers to tell 'em what it is, and the preachers are often the wolves.

The church is blowing money left and right building new wings, getting closed caption TV, wide screen projectors and HDTV monitors because they're for the most part in the business of "edutainment" instead of teaching the Word. Sheep are inherently dumb animals - they will always find the one open hole (often a loop hole) and that's what most are doing...finding a loop hole to support their personal comfort zones. If the sheep are looking for loop holes and the world can see it (because most sheep are bragging about), it's no wonder we can't coax the unsaved into a place full of backbiting, gossip, and skinflint-iness we're generally known for.

  7. part 2 of 2.....

Most Christians won't tithe more than $10-$20 in the plate, but they cry when there's no help for them. Well, if everyone would stop being cheap squeaks and tithe FIRST, then they'd be blessed. You reap what you sow, but if you don't sow, you can't harvest. It's also part of the reason churches aren't prepping - they don't get enough in the plate to cover basic expenses like the electric/gas/heat/AC, but everyone expects the church to be there "for them" because they belong. Well, dig in your pockets and the church might just be there in a substantial way in your moment of need, but you can't withdraw what you don't put in. You can pull out all the pocket lint you want, but it won't help you unless you're knitting sweaters from it and selling them on Ebay. It's like the old Flip Wilson "Reverend Leroy of the Church of What's Happening Now!"; Pastor passes around the plate and it keeps coming back empty, and he finally says that the church needs money to run, so what do the people say? "Let it crawl, Rev!! Let it crawl!!"

The Bible says to strive to enter the narrow gate and that MANY are going the way of the broad gate. It also says that His people perish for lack of knowledge. As long as they're not in the Bible, they're going to perish - or worse yet, those MANY "foolish virgins" are going to swamp the VERY FEW boats of the "wise virgins", and expect room service, and take both sets down.

I wish I could tell you how many people have said to me, "If SHTF, I'm coming to YOUR HOUSE! I know you'll have EVERYTHING!" Yeah, the diligent ant is going to have all the sluggard grasshoppers banging at her door, expecting me to care for all of them. This is what will try my faith because I make less than most of those people, yet they are playing and blowing cash, but since I'm "Christian", I should automatically open up my doors and feed everyone with what I did without. If I open my doors, I struggle with one question: "am I being a foolish virgin for sharing my oil?"

People don't want to admit to what's coming. It is awful, but your denial is only going to make it that much worse. I absolutely detest those with children - it's beyond irresponsible to behave that way and risk your family's lives! Do without a few extra toys, a few less restaurants, a few less movie nights/date nights out, and start doing the right thing; it won't kill you to "suffer" a bit now to avoid a lot of suffering later.

To be completely honest? I think all the denial is nothing more than good old fashioned laziness and selfishness, and betting on the status quo instead of obeying the Bible and knowing the state of your flocks.

  8. There are many examples of the Nazi party in effect on the political left, but no one wants to admit it - they take the easy road and parrot what they're told. I believe both parties have axes to grind, but it's critical to know who MADE your axe rather than grabbing the first one handed to you and swinging it around like a drunken monkey. That's all the lefties are doing - swinging and parroting instead of learning. Learning takes time, effort, gores their sacred cows, and brainwashed belief systems. Plus it takes away from time to watch Lady GaGa parading around in police crime scene tape or learning why this celeb got caught in a whore house with drugs. We all have our priorities!

Yesterday it was the "final solution", today it's called "abortion. One gets the Nurnberg trials, and the other gets federal funding (planned parenthood - ironic name considering their clients don't want to be parents).

Yesterday all "undesirables" were banned from owning guns (Jews); today they want to strip weapons out of the hands of every NRA person because we know the Left wouldn't own one - we're the "undesirables".

Yep, the Catholic church couldn't cave in fast enough back then, but the Protestants held out. Anyone who held out were monitored by the OSS. Today, you have the Houston lesbian mayor who commanded city attorneys to subpoena all Houston area pastors, demanding copies of all sermons that contained any reference to the LGBT lifestyle. She wanted to prosecute them under a statute she created (she refused to let the public vote on it) called HERO. The state supreme court has since shot her down, but HERO on the ballot for a vote, and the pastors are now suing her.

Dr Josef Mengele experimented on people and was never caught to be prosecuted, but when Planned Parenthood cuts off the testicles of aborted males and sells their body parts for "research", they're allowed to profit from it.

And people think I'm nuts for starting to scream what God has told me. I'm a believer of the One True Living God, not a follower of Jim Jones, and I'm not drinking kool aid being passed off as mouthwash.

    Know thy enemy!

  9. I'd also like to add to posts 1 & 2 - pastors don't want to teach on prophecy; I believe they're afraid either they'll get labeled a "prophecy nut" (another good strategy of satan - labeling and trying to make fun of in order to reduce or eliminate the threat), or afraid it'll clear out the pews and with it the money. If the pastors are much too concerned what "man" thinks, they honestly can't teach what GOD thinks because they are often practicing self-censorship to keep the butts in the seats. Butts in seats equals money, prestige, and a broad path to tell.

I guess the most basic scriptures that told me "get over my pre-trib self" came out of from Jesus' own mouth:
Joh 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

If He was hated, but you're being loved on by the world, you're doing something very wrong - stop, change direction, and give up caring what "the world" thinks - you can't operate as a disciple if you're too worried about what everyone else thinks of you. Their opinions shouldn't matter one rip to you; there is only ONE opinion you should strive to have matter, and that's what JESUS thinks of you. If every one of the apostles were persecuted but you're having a hunky, dory day and everyone loves you....chances are good you are not His, but the good news you still have time to stop and "offend" everyone while there's still time.

Let's face it - the world IS offended by Christianity, and yet we have surrendered to this. We have all the power of the power of the enemy and yet we cower and ask God to fix X situation when Jesus said He gave us His power, His dominion. The apostles accepted it and in the space of 60-90 years turned the whole known world upside down. They had AND CHOSE TO exercise the power (dominion) which is why they had success.

    Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

The problem is the TV and newscasts are a lot more seductive than the Bible and most won't soak in it. They don't know the Kingdom laws, curse themselves, give satan more power and credit than they give Jesus, and wonder why satan is running over them and taking bites out of their behind when they've CHOSEN through every action to remove the doors off the house, then wondering why "the thief" came in and robbed them blind. Put the doors back on the wall, lock the evil out, and you will have peace and prosperity.
