A Modern Woman's Perspective On The Kingdom of God on Earth

Ready For This? Sex With Angels

What I'm about to talk about will seem over the top, hard to believe, and frankly, unworthy of discussion among Christians.  But apparently it is a taboo subject that is far more common than one might expect, and is as old as man himself.
I don't know how to begin any other way but just to dive in ... I had been hearing preposterous stories of Hollywood stars giving glowing reports of sex with "heavenly angels".  Thinking it was some kind of publicity stunt, I blew it off.  Then I began hearing deliverance ministers talking about the horror stories of people who had first welcomed such visitations, but soon began to dread the attacks which were destroying their lives.
It all seemed like headlines from the latest supermarket tabloids... but these people believed it happened to them and were able to graphically describe the occasions.  Such is the case with actress Lucy Liu in an interview she did with US magazine:  "I was sleeping on my futon on the floor, and some sort of spirit came down from God knows where and made love to me. It was sheer bliss. I felt everything. I climaxed. And then he floated away. It was almost like what might have happened to Mary. That’s how it felt. Something came down and touched me, and now it watches over me." I am appalled at the inference that what happened to Ms. Liu can be prepared to the Holy Spirit, but how convenient of the devil to try to counterfeit this ideal.
And, of course, there was the concern over the lyrics in Katy Perry's song, E.T.:  "You’re so hypnotizing. Could you be the devil, could you be an angel? Your touch magnetizing. Feels like I am floating. Leaves my body glowing. They say be afraid. You’re not like the others futuristic lover. Different DNA. They don’t understand you. You’re from a whole other world. A different dimension. You opened my eyes. I’m ready to go. Lead me into the light."
What is so disturbing to me is that both of these accounts are being accepted in pop culture as something popular; something positive; something "spiritual" that watches over them and leads them to the light.... something to be envied and sought after.  Those of us who are aware of the increase in spiritual warfare are all too mindful that this is a seductive attack by the dark side.  But is it new to this generation?
We just have to go back a few decades to see it occurring in the supposedly innocent song lyrics of Roy Orbison's Mystery Girl:  "Darkness falls and she will take me by the hand, Take me to some twilight land. Where all but love is grey. Where I can't find my way. Without her as my guide...Night falls I'm cast beneath her spell. Daylight comes our heaven turns to hell. Am I left to burn and burn eternally....She's a mystery to me. She's a Mystery Girl. She's a Mystery Girl... In the night of love words tangled in her hair. Words soon to disappear. A love so sharp it cut like a switchblade to my heart; words tearing me apart. She tears again my bleeding heart. I want to run she's pulling me apart. Fallen angel cries, And I just melt away. She's a mystery to me; She's a Mystery Girl."
Did you catch that reference to a fallen angel?  Kind of view this song a little differently now, don't you?  It's a pretty explicit rendering of the power of these spiritual entities who initially bring experiences of lustful pleasure, but eventually cause their "heaven to turn to hell".  And in case you are still not buying this evil experience, there is actually a definition of what is happening.  It is called Spectrophilia, and is defined as "sexual attraction to ghosts or sexual arousal from images in mirrors, also the phenomenon of sexual encounters between ghosts and humans."  One element that is usually a big part of the experience is the rape of both men and women, usually while they are sleeping... that sounds like what happened in Roy Orbison's song.
There will be those who say this is all part of ancient mythology; folk lore that has existed for centuries.  Among the more famous stories of such sexual encounters with spirits are Gilgamesh (a post flood god-human hybrid (demigod) that had sex with a goddess (supernatural female entity). The result was Gilgamesh being born 2/3 god and 1/3 human);  Achilles and Hercules (both products of supernatural sexual encounters that result in god-human hybrids or demigods); Merlin, who according to legend, was a cambion, which is part demon and part human. Often times that fact is left out of the King Arthur story; and of course the Bible's accounting of the Nephilim in Genesis 6, who were the sons of fallen angels and human women.
So, if you still want to dismiss all this as mythology or folklore, ask yourself this question:  Is it a coincidence that the idea of sex with the supernatural exists all throughout history, regardless of politics, religion, or economic status? And can you dismiss that in Luke 17 Jesus says that the Last Days will be like the days of Lot?  Yes, He says that people "ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built"... but what else did they do?  Seek to have sex with the angels that came to Lot's house.  Although those angels were sent from God, man's appetite for "angel sex" has not abated, and Satan is only too happy to oblige.
Why do I find it necessary to bring this situation to your attention?  Because our kids are being sucked into an occult entertainment world that celebrates such liaisons... besides Katy Perry's music and Lucy Liu's glowing report, they are inundated with the likes of True Blood on TV, and the Twilight movie series, where human girls fall in love with vampires.  It's just one more repetition of Satan's ancient practice of drawing us away from our Savior and into his clutches.  I'm sure there is so much more than I am even aware of; especially in video games, animation, and play-acting diversions, such as Dungeons and Dragons.
We must quit thinking that our civilization is too advanced to fall for the deceptions that the ancient cultures embraced, and realize that we are just as vulnerable.  We give Satan an open invitation and legal right to visit these dark entities upon us.  And please be aware that there is no age limit upon those whom the devil tempts ... Guard yourself and your children!

Please take the time to read this informative article which provided much of the background for this blog post.

James 1:13-14     Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.

  1. Very well written article. However, Dungeons and Dragons is no different than Cowboys and Indians. If you've never played it, then you probably have no idea why I just said that. I find that many Christians that lump D&D onto these types of lists are only doing so because they saw someone else do it. There's nothing in the Bible about not using your imagination. It's the same thing Christian authors do to write fiction stories, except D&D does it in groups and with dice.

    1. Here are my concerns regarding such multi-player role-playing games... how we live our lives as believers and how we occupy our minds (yes, even in entertainment) matters to God. Enjoying a game with friends, or playing a game with friends is not a sin. But games that have even a small element of fantasy or magic, or elves, or fairies, or mythical creatures should make Christians wary. Satan seeks to use any opportunity where we open up our minds to have a legal authority to enter the game and influence us. If playing the game becomes more important to us than God, our family, our work, or school, then it becomes an idol or obsession. God is concerned about every aspect of our lives, so whether one plays ANY of these games should be a conversation you have with God.

  2. In all respect Minister Fortson, if you are actually a minister as it says in your name I am concerned about your opinion that these things are no big deal. Although I do not understand how far reaching some of these things that we may mess with purposefully pr unpurposefuly can effect us I will say that I think we should lean to the side of not messing with them. Scripture is clear that these types of things are to be seperate from believers and you as a minister should not down play that because people trust ministers for guidance.

    1. I am happy to see other Christians respond to this misguided advice from "Minister Fortson". We must use great discernment when engaging with objects of the world. Those of us who study the Word will sense that games such as D&D are not for God-fearing people.

  3. Minister Fortson,
These things are demonic! They are not humans with a gun and a spear. I must tell you that a friend and I used to play with Ouija boards and then started getting interested in "good" magic. We watched horror movies on Friday nights. We started hearing and seeing things. At first it was exciting and then it got very scary and we realized that we had slipped into something we never should have. We even saw a UFO - up in the sky at the side of a country road. We stopped, got out of the car and couldn't believe what we were seeing. We kept looking for a car to come by to witness what we were, but none did. I don't know how long we stood under this huge thing (that had absolutely no engine sound at all), but finally it just shot away - faster than you could ever believe anything could travel.
I became a Christian about five years after that and I always had that in the back of my mind - how do aliens fit in with Christianity. I was watching a Christian discussion panel on television one day and a woman asked that very question - one of the panel asked her where she was at in her walk with the Lord at the time. He wanted to know if she was practicing witchcraft. He said that aliens are demonic and we call them to ourselves by our practices. I was totally amazed - it all made sense. I hadn't even put two and two together.
I have an entirely different knowledge about this now with first-hand experience. We invite demons in by what we (or our children) watch on television, play on games, listen to on the radio. My little grandchildren were watching a cartoon one Saturday morning that told them to put their hands against the screen to receive powers from the cartoon character. I changed the channel and told their mother. She told them that the cartoon was not good and they could not watch it again. The evil one is after even our littlest.
I pray protection around all of our children and grandchildren and pray that the plans of the evil one will be destroyed by the power of Jesus Christ.
    Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

    1. I pray that your testimony will be heard across the country! As a supposedly "Christian nation", I am appalled at how far Christians have wandered from the true worship of our God. Do you see how easily we accept astrology, movies, "spiritual" counselors, and the like as a substitute for the Word of God? And it does not surprise me that your grandchildren were tempted to receive a demonic power... how many parents have given their children over to TV, iPads, and video games to keep them occupied? Do parents even know what their children are being exposed to? We are turning our children over to demonic influences and have no clue! Thank you for sharing your personal experiences, and hopefully others will be enlightened as to the dangers we and our children face.

  4. Hello Belle,

I just read your article on this this morning. I had never thought about the fact that those men were after Lot's guests because they were angels.

One needs to be careful about things that we bring into our home or even outside of our home also. I can't share the full details of something that was told to me some years ago, other than after being given a gift and placing it outside of her window she started being raped. She called out to God and it fled. Got rid of the gift the next day and it never returned. It's not about being paranoid, but sure is about cleansing your home and asking God to reveal anything that's not of Him.

I had an experience where i felt that i should bin a book that i had just bought my son when i brought it into my house. It was a school fund raiser book and we had brought it home from school. My son has other books of the same theme, but there was something different about the content of this book. I advised my son that i feel that he shouldn't have it. Well, that didn't go down very well. I prayed about it. I prayed about it again. I even offered the money that it cost, to my son (i was desperate), but he wasn't budging. Then i asked him to pray with me about it. So we prayed. I went into the kitchen and he got up and said i'll have the money and handed me the book. I said to him something like "changed your mind hey". He said "no, God just told me". I went downstairs and binned it. Yes, sure it cost money, but the ONLY place for a book like that is at the dump.

If you need to, call out to our Father in Jesus' name, call Him to mind, and remember God lives within our heart. Pray the blood of Jesus over you and everything that you're attached to - everyday.

    Steph

    1. Steph,
Thank you for these important testimonies! You have inspired me to write a blog post on just what the Church doesn't know about spiritual warfare. I know that there are many more stories like the ones you just shared, but Christians are hesitant to share them because they are outside the normal Church experience ... or at least what is talked about in the Church. But we are leaving millions of Christians defenseless when we keep this information from them! Yes, just as you said, we can rebuke evil in the name of Jesus and please the blood of Jesus as a protective covering. We MUST educate our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ!
